Изложба декоративна пластика от естествено дърво
The exhibition will be open to visitors from March 20 to April 3, 2026.
Stanimir Bozhkov – Stan was born in Varna, Bulgaria, but has been living and creating in Barcelona for the past 18 years. The Mediterranean environment and the proximity to the sea have become a natural source of inspiration for him, while his connection to the shoreline and the water is a key driving force in his creative process.
Stan Bozhkov works with wood, natural materials, and light in the field of wood sculpture. For more than ten years he has been experimenting and developing his own artistic language, techniques, and style. His work is inspired by Eastern philosophy, as well as by abstract art and Surrealism. It follows the principles of simplicity and self-development.
In his early works, he used only a knife and sandpaper, tools through which he explored the character and natural qualities of wood. Over time, he gradually began incorporating additional tools and machines. He finds his materials in nature—within processes and forms that it has already begun shaping. He senses and further develops these forms, as well as those discovered among overlooked or discarded objects, to which he gives new life.
A large part of his artistic journey has taken place in Spain, where his work has received recognition and high appreciation. He has participated in the TranzArte Festival and the Own Spirit Festival, and has exhibited at the exhibition halls of the La Cultura Association, as well as at Bien Cuadrado Gallery.
Organic Sculpture — Concept
Stanimir Bozhkov creates organic sculptures. He uses roots, branches, and pieces of wood found along the seashore as his primary materials. Naturally shaped by water and sand, these elements transform into abstract and surreal forms or structures reminiscent of marine creatures, in the spirit of nature-inspired art.
Through his work, the artist aims to encourage a responsible attitude toward the environment.
Living in harmony with nature is a conscious choice to combine human well-being with care for the world around us. It involves restoring our spiritual connection with nature, practicing responsible consumption, respecting biodiversity, and adopting sustainable practices. At its core lies the understanding that humans and nature are inseparable.
This way of life is not a temporary trend, but a necessary step toward a more sustainable future.
